WATERBURY – Bertha (Burky) DiBartolomeo, 95, died on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at The Summit at Plantsville. She was the widow of Domenic DiBartolomeo.
Bertha was born in Waterbury on April 29, 1925, daughter of the late Ludwig and Philomena (Tessetore) Burky. She was educated in Waterbury schools and retired from Bendix (Timex) Corp. She was a member of the Church of St. Dominic in Southington.
She loved traveling and spent many summer vacations with her family at the beach in Cape Cod. She had many friends who enjoyed her wit! She especially liked bowling, bingo, the casino, and taking care of her many cats through the years.
Bertha leaves her daughters, Anna Plukas of Milford and Lois Wolff of Southington; as well as two beloved granddaughters, Briana and Marissa Wolff. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Josephine Anderson of Naugatuck; brother-in-law Kenneth Coviello of Waterbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Ronald; and sons-in-law Gary Wolff and Bill Plukas; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Bertha’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mountain Laurel Wing of The Summit at Plantsville for the exceptional care given to her.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 62 St. Michael Drive, Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St., is in charge of arrangements.
