The 2020 race for the White House has been a wild one going back to early last year. With Donald Trump as the current president, nobody should be surprised.
I have been covering this race for PlaySlots4RealMoney.com since early 2019. My main focus has been on the various betting props posted for the 2020 general election. The primary source for these props have been Bovada as one of the top online sportsbooks for US bettors.
Lets Have One Final Look At The Betting Props For Tuesday’s Election
In that extended timeframe, I have watched Trump go from being the overwhelming favorite to heavy underdog for next Tuesday. This is largely by his own doing. I also watched Joe Biden go from an extreme longshot just to win the Democratic Party’s nomination. He now sits as the clear favorite to become the next President of the United States.
Bovada has remained rather creative in some of the props offered the past two years. Trump getting impeached was a hot topic. At first the odds favored NO. Yet, as time wore on, it became obvious he would earn this dubious honor.
At one point, the following three Democratic hopefuls for president topped the betting board:
- Kamala Harris
- Elizabeth Warren
- Bernie Sanders
Former Vice President Joe Biden was also at the top early in the race before fading down the list. His strong performance in the early primaries this year started his second run to the top.
At one point, there were nearly 50 different names on the betting board to win the Democratic nomination. This list included Michele Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Hillary Clinton as three prominent women.
There were props covering the Democratic nomination for vice president. Senator Harris was an early favorite in this prop and in the end she paid off on that bet.
It is hard to pinpoint when the tide started to turn away from Trump as the favorite. Getting impeached actually help his odds once acquitted by the Senate. The outbreak of the coronavirus took its toll. It continued to drag him down all spring and summer.
A radical shift in the odds took place after the first presidential debate in late September. By then, Biden was the favorite to win by a small margin. Things have continued to cascade downward for the incumbent over the past few weeks.
The current odds on the board at the best political betting sites have Biden listed as a heavy -180 favorite. Trump’s odds to win are +150.
BetOnline also has prop bet odds posted for the electoral vote in each state. Focusing on the key battleground states, Trump is a -150 favorite in Florida. Biden gets the stronger nod in Pennsylvania as a -190 favorite.
Ohio continues to lean strong towards Trump at -280 odds. Biden is heavily favored in Michigan (-310) and Wisconsin (-260).
Everything draws to a close next Tuesday. Although, SportsBetting.ag had previously posted props for when the actual winner will be declared.
