Rajat Mahajan Prashanth Sekar Wins Final Day Of APT India Online Series 2021

We have witnessed exceptional poker being played across the last two weeks across all formats and tournaments in the Asian Poker Tour Online Series 2021. Last night, we finally reached the finish line and crowned the first ever APT Online Series Main Event Champion!

APT#51 Turbo 5 LAC GTD

Day 11 started off with a Turbo 5 Lakhs GTD event for a buy-in of INR 1,375. The tournament received a total of 379 entries, creating a total prize pool of INR 5,00,000, an overlay of INR 2,27,500, 45 places paid with a min. cash of INR 2,800. Arjanveer ‘holdbaby’ Singh finally shipped his first APT title (4 Final tables previously) after beating Dhruv ‘Gowani123’ Jain who finished the event in second place. ‘Holdbaby’ earned himself a payout of INR 1,05,000 for shipping the event while Gowani123 earned INR 73,500 for second place!

APT#53 Tuesday Major 25 LAC GTD

Next up was the huge Tuesday Major 25 Lakhs GTD event. The tournament received a total of 545 entries (277 entries+268 re-entries) creating a prize pool of INR 27,25,000! This resulted in 63 places being paid with a min. cash of INR 10,800. Prashanth ‘Ivyleague’ Sekar also earned his first APT title of this series! He shipped this event by beating Raghunath ‘Mittpop’ Mittal in the final heads-up. Heads up was very lopsided with Sekar ahead 5:1. Sekar went on to win it with A♣ 8♣ dominating A♦ 2♣. ‘Ivyleague’ earned himself INR 5.29 Lakhs for shipping the event while ‘mittpop’ had to settle for INR 3.71 Lakhs!

APT#54 Turbo 10 LAC GTD

The penultimate event of APT Day 11 was the Turbo 10 Lakhs GTD event. The tournament received a total of 412 entries (222 entries+190 re-entries) creating a prize pool of INR 10,30,000! This resulted in 45 places being paid with a min. cash of INR 5,768. ‘Macchi’ earned his first title at the APT 2021 Online Series! He beat ‘Jougan’ heads-up and absolutely deserved the title! Kicking off the final chase, macchi was up 5:1 in chips. On the third hand, macchi shipped it all by burning Jougan’s A♥ 10♥ top pair with A♣ 8♦ that both paired up. ‘Macchi’ earned himself a massive payout of INR 2.16 Lakhs! ‘Jougan’ earned the second place payout of INR 1.51 Lakhs!

APT#55 After Party 3 LAC GTD

Final event of the series was the After Party 3 Lakhs GTD. The tournament received a total of 330 entries at a buy-in of INR 1,100, creating a prize pool of INR 3,30,000! This resulted in 36 places being paid with a min. cash of INR 2,244. Sandy ‘Ziigmund’ Lamba continued his magnificent run and shipped his second event by beating Kuldeep ‘Bacchapro’ Jorwal at heads-up. At heads up, Lamba defeated Kuldeep “Bacchapro” Jorwal with K♥ 10♥ flush over Q♣ J♦. ‘Ziigmund’ received a payout of INR 72.89k for shipping while ‘Bacchapro’ earned himself a payout of INR 51.1k!

APT#52 Main Event 2CR GTD Day 2

The biggest event of the series took place last night. The 2 Crores GTD Main Event Day 2 kicked off with 240 players but only 193 places were paid for a min. cash of INR 24,000! In the 40th minute of play, the bubble burst at the fall of Rohan ‘Theoldrod’ Sahni. After a runtime of almost 6 hours, we finally crowned the first ever APT Online Series Main Event Champion! Rajat ‘happyfish’ Mahajan took home the title and the massive payout after beating ‘boatfish’ in the final heads-up! Heads up arrived at the fall of short stacked sidkid to Mahajan. boatfish was ahead in the count. On the 11th heads up hand, Mahajan reclaimed it on a winning straight then widened the gap with pocket Kings over J9o. The final hand arrived soon after with Mahajan 8♦ 8♠ straight on a board 6♦ 10♠ 7♣ 9♦ A♣ against boatfish’s K♦ 2♦. Rajat Mahajan earned a massive payout of INR 34,06,000 for shipping the biggest event of the series, while ‘boatfish’ earned themselves a payout of INR 24,82,000 for second place!
