- Real haven’t won their last four Champions League games
- The Spanish side have one point from two games in this group
- Inter have lost one of their last eight European games
Inter to hold firm
Inter Milan have drawn their opening two UEFA Champions League matches this season – the last time that happened in 2009/10, they went on to win the competition under Jose Mourinho. Hopes of them repeating that aren’t high, but their opponents aren’t among the favourites either.
Real Madrid are winless in their last four UEFA Champions League matches (D1 L3) and they’ve drifted in the betting as a result. The Spanish giants are lucky to have a point after their late rally against Gladbach, while their league campaign has already been rocky.
There’s certainly an opportunity here for Inter Milan, who will be hoping to kick on in Europe after last season’s run to the Europa League final. They’ve lost just once in eight European games and that run can continue with the hosts struggling.
Since the start of last season, Real have only beaten Galatasaray and Club Brugge in Europe. We can see Inter holding out against them, having seen the Nerazzurri lose just once in their eight games this term. We’re starting our predictions here with Inter Double Chance, while we’re backing a 1-1 final score.
