The $50,000 Henry Mercer Memorial Stakes will run as Race 4 on the Sept. 19 card at Charles Town.
The event for West Virginia bred 2-year-olds will cover 4 1/2 furlongs and include names like Hopping Henry and Pilot in Command among the field six.

Hopping Henry, Pilot in Command
One of the top names coming into the race is owner and trainer Michael Sterling’s Hopping Henry.
The gelding from Juba has a career record of 1-1-0 from two starts and earnings of $21,400.
Last time out, he won an Aug. 15 maiden special weight race at Charles Town, which followed a runner-up effort in a July 4 maiden special weight race at the track.
Hopping Henry will break from post 4 under jockey Wesley Ho.
Another top runner among the field is Coleswood Farm’s Pilot in Command. The son of Will Take Charge is trained by Jeff Runco.
He has a career record of 1-0-1 from two starts and earnings of $18,638.
His most-recent performance was a Sept. 5 maiden special weight victory at Charles Town, and his other start was a third-place effort in another maiden special weight race on Aug. 15 at the track.
Pilot in Command will break from post 1 under Arnaldo Bocachica.
Natural Attraction, Youthinkthatsfunny
Also among the field is O’Sullivan Farms and Eric Steinmann’s Natural Attraction. The son of Golden Years is trained by Javier Contreras.
He is 1-0-0 from two career starts with earnings of $18,050.
The colt finished fourth in the July 28 Hansel Stakes at Colonial Downs, which followed a maiden special weight victory on July 4 at Charles Town.
Natural Attraction will break from post 3 under jockey Sunday Diaz, Jr.
Another runner to pay attention to is owner and trainer John McKee’s Youthinkthatsfunny.
The gelding from Fiber Sonde is 1-0-1 from two career starts with earnings of $18,575.
His victory came in a July 25 maiden special weight race at Charles Town, which followed a third-place effort in another at the track on July 4.
Youthinkthatsfunny will break from post 5 under Reshawn Latchman.
The other two runners among the field are set to be John McKee’s In the Gospel, breaking from post 2 under Antonio Lopez, and O’Sullivan Farms and Dunloe Venture’s Uncle Funky, breaking from the outside post 6 under Carlos Delgado.
