UFC Fight Night – Fight Island #2 Betting Preview and Free Play: Khadis Ibragimov vs. Roman Dolidze

An excellent UFC event is heading your way soon, with more than a handful of great fights and betting experiences. One fight to take some time to look at is one in the prelims with two light heavyweights in Roman Dolidze and Khadis Ibragimov.

The Fighters

Roman Dolidze (6-0-0)

Dolidze is making his UFC debut for this one with a 6 fight win streak since he is undefeated. His fighting resume shows that he has 3 wins by knockout and 3 by submission.

His last fight was back in 2018, and then in early 2019, he was suspended for one year for testing positive for a certain drug. His compliance with the drug administration reduced his UFC ban down to only one year versus a potentially longer ban.

Looking back at those fights, he has been great. He has 4 fights that have finished in the first round, and 2 that have finished a little later. Of those first round finishes, he has 2 that are less than a minute.

Khadis Ibragimov (8-2-0)

Ibragimov will be taking this third shot at a win inside the UFC octagon. The light heavyweight has had 2 back to back losses since his debut in 2019. His fighting resume shows that he has 2 wins by knockout, 3 by submission, 2 by decision, and 1 by his opponent being disqualified during a fight.

He has a striking accuracy at 52 percent and a grappling accuracy of 30 percent. He lands 5.23 significant strikes a minute and absorbs 6. This is a decent ratio but he needs to defend a little better here.

He has a takedown defense at 100 percent and significant strike defense at 51 percent. Per 15 minutes of fight time, he also averages 1.67 takedowns.

Odds For This Event

The market has been steadily keeping the odds the same for this one. BetOnline has the odds currently sitting at:

Dolidze: -185

Ibragimov: +160

Potential Winning Pick

Both of these fighters have shown great potential to become excellent fighters in the light heavyweight division. Are the odds justified here?

Ibragimov has a balanced winning resume, but has come up short when fighting in the UFC, especially with his poor significant strike defense. Dolidze should make this interesting, and I like his chances at an early finish here.
