Weekly Poker Showdown: Tony Dunst

Weekly Poker Showdown: Tony Dunst

Team Online’s Jaime Staples hosts a hugely popular podcast on YouTube that goes by the name of the Weekly Poker Showdown.

The $100 million guaranteed WPT World Online Championships are just over the horizon so what better way to prepare for them by inviting Tony Dunst onto the Weekly Poker Showdown?

Tony Dunst spoke to Jaime Staples for the latest Weekly Poker Showdown podcast, where he discussed the upcoming series, and went all the way back to when he started in poker in 2002.

Dunst has previously made clear he lost interest in working for other people and being told what to do in his job, and when asked how common this trait is among poker players, he said: “A lot of what attracts poker players to this lifestyle is the autonomy, freedom and the ability to express themselves as an individual, even if they’re not an artistic person. Just being true to yourself is a super-appealing aspect of doing this for a living.”

You can see the podcast in full below, as Dunst also discusses mistakes he made early in his career, how living in three continents has helped shape him as a person and a unique summer for online poker.
